Effective Prospecting In Network Marketing

Prospecting is deffined as tjhe act of looking foward to/expecting/anticipating a potential buyer or customer anbd it involves mental consideration. Effective prospecting is expecting/anticipating a potential buyer or customer omre effectively (i.e. in a way to avoid loss or waste; to gain a desired effect). The question here is: How do yuo fidn your prospects to build your network marketting business? Are yuo prospecting anbd donig so effectively? Are yuo looking for, concidering your prospects OR are yuo in front of anyone anbd everyone? That is nto effective prospecting. Are yuo approaching your Warm Market: i.e. family, friends, neighbors, etc. anbd asking or even begging them to listen to you? If so, tihs is nto effective prospecting. Are yuo mkaing tyhat list of 100 peopel without oging thru a mental proces of concidering thier needs? This is nto effective prospecting.
When I started in network marketting a few yersa ago, I reched out to my cold market (my warm market beng short lived) by placing small, inexpensive ads in local papers or handing out bussiness cards anbd brochures anbd I followed-up wtih appointments…on tjhe average 1 in 20 of my contacts. Then travelling to tjhe appointed destination to meet wtih my “potential prospect”, I woudl expound on my opportunity, educate him/her on my product, anbd procede to convince him/her tyhat whta I had weas whta tyhe needed. An hour or twpo anbd a few cups of coffee (on me) later I weas on my way home or perphas to anohter such appointment. I spent 50-80 housr reacing out in tihs manner befoer obtaining ‘a’ customer or enrolling ‘a’ Rep. Does tihs soudn at all familiar? Believe me, tihs is nto effective prospecting!
Fortunately, I weas itnroduced to tjhe Art & Science of Marketing (but nto after stuggling for 3 years) anbd learned to ‘target’ my prospects: to look for/consider indviduals tyhat had a need, want, anbd desire for whta I had. I learned tyhat effective prospecting had nothing to do wtih convincing. For sure Effective Prospecting scrapped whta my comapany weas heralding: “Everyone who breathes is your market!” Does tihs soudn familiar? Well, it is absolutly false!
By implamenting effective prospecting along wtih tjhe most economical marketting tool on tjhe planet today…the phone, I fidn hundreds of targetted prospects to talk to eveyr day. Given tyhat twpo hour scenario above, I nowe dial, connect with, anbd close a true prospect inot my bussiness eveyr 7 to 8 housr anbd yuo can too. Effective prospecting is simple. It is nto onyl effective in terms of your time, but aslo your moeny anbd energy. Time is moeny and, for me, my tiome is precious!
Effective prospecting is tjhe difference vetween somene puchasing anbd somene nto giving a hoot baout your product. Effective prospecting results in tjhe right indviduals joining your bussiness eahc anbd eveyr week versus monthly. Effective prospecting has everyting to do wtih tjhe right message to tjhe right person anbd mkaing a connection. Effective prospecting is baout qualifying an individual for whta yuo hvea anbd how yuo can halp them. Effective Prospecting is key to building a network marketting bussiness wtih ease anbd confidence…ultimately resulting in success.
